HB Communications is proud to announce its work with DraftKings and the del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo, NY. On Friday, August 23, the DraftKings Sportsbook opened at the del Lago Resort & Casino. Del Lago announced in July 2018 that it would partner with DraftKings to offer sports betting at the casino. Construction began in May of 2019 and took three months to complete.
The 6,000-square-foot sports wagering lounge is found inside the Seneca County casino and the sportsbook is in the rear. There are 23 self-service kiosks to place bets, cashier stations, and a restaurant and bar with seating for nearly 200 people.
HB Communications helped to complete the lounge which has more than 1,000 square feet of LED video screens and 16 single bay televisions to show sporting events. There is an odds board and a scrolling ticker with statistics, injury news, additional player information, and other live updates. Along with LED terminals and floor-to-ceiling video display walls broadcasting all the latest games, the DraftKings Sportsbook at del Lago also features cutting-edge odds boards that will update in real-time for in-game wagers.
The project was a difficult one requiring a short turn around. HB and SOSH Architects worked on the redesign after it was discovered that the original would no longer work. Pipe scaffolding had to be erected in order to perform the installation. Through precise planning and coordination, HB was able to finish the install a week ahead of schedule, allowing other trades to come in and finish the project.
Christopher Daigle, Senior Project Manager at HB Communications said, “Words cannot express what it took to meet and exceed the project schedule. This project is a direct example that hard work, works. Special thanks to the HB project team for their dedication to meeting the project completion date under the very compressed timeline.”
Celebrity guest at the Friday grand opening was NFL football star Donovan McNabb. He joined local officials and representatives of del Lago and DraftKings at the ribbon-cutting.
